Hello, fellow Rivian enthusiasts! I have some exciting news to share with you today. RIVIPARTS, maker of bespoke 3D printed parts for Rivian R1T and R1S vehicles, will be relaunching as OpenSource EV Parts!

As you may know, I started RIVIPARTS.com as a passion project to create custom parts for Rivian vehicles. I was amazed by the response from the community and the demand for RIVIPARTS products.

I've long realized that open sourcing the 3D models of the products created was a fundamental necessity for this project. I believe in the power of open source and the collaboration-first mentality at it's heart. I believe that by sharing RIVIPARTS designs with the world, this project can foster innovation and collaboration among EV enthusiasts and makers. I also want to encourage more people to get into 3D printing and explore its possibilities.

This relaunch means two things:

First, it means that we are doubling-down on our commitment to open sourcing all of our designs. We're committing that you will be able to download the STL files for everything we make for free. Each will be licensed under Creative Commons so you can then remix them as needed and print them for personal use yourself should you have access to the capability to do so.

Second, transitioning to the OpenSource EV name is a preparatory step for expanding into creation of parts for different vehicles. Currently, the focus remains on Rivian R1S and R1T, but there will be a day that the focus is expanded to include other electric vehicles from Tesla, Ford, Lucid, Scout, and more.
